I received my Envy 14 yesterday, I plugged it in to charge it and noticed there is a red x in the battery indicator in the task bar. When I put my mouse on it it says "no battery detected, battery 1 and battery 2.

Obviously there is a battery because I unplugged it from the AC and it is still on and operating. Unplugged the battery indicator is empty and there is a message that says unknown time left (or something like that).

What is my next step? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Run the HP battery test and see what it says...and did you fully charge the battery when you first got it?

I ran the test and it said I should reinstall the battery. I did and now everything seems fine.

    Thank you.
