    Hi,

Can anyone tell me the real difference between these 2 machines? Seems I can get the Quad now with an i7, HD 1080 screen, 8gigs of ram, decent hard drive, AMD GPU, extra battery, all for about 1000 or 1050$ with the current sale.

The envy with similar specs will be about 1300.

Aside from the keyboard being lit on the Envy, what are the other differences?

    Thanks.

The build quality on the envy is higher than the DV6, because it's made of metal, aluminium, and magnesium. Also, there's a coupon on the envys right now, I don't know which one is working right now though.

And the envy has a backlit keyboard, better screen, better speakers, etc, etc. You're pretty much paying for the "premium" features, as the internal specs aren't that much better than the dv6tqe.

two year warranty with hdx/envy concierge service (American tech support line with people who know things). And also what the others say about the hardware. Much better looking laptop and the 15 screen is brighter and is IPS technology (IPS is very high end tech that doesn't come in most consumer laptops, usually only high line business laptops). Plus the Envy comes with two year Norton antivirus (just stating, I avoid Norton like the plague myself) and a roughly $100 bundle of adobe Photoshop elements and adobe Premiere elements software.

build quality is better on the envy

    looks better

    thinner

    *possibly* better graphics card

*better* screen (IPS vs matte), both are 60% NTSC gamut, similar contrast, obv with IPS having a better vertical viewing angle vs matte's anti reflection.

Hi. Just cancelled my order for the dv6z, looking to buy something with better performance, either dv6t quad i7 (no 7200rpm drive option!!!) or Envy 15 i7.

Can someone tell me if the Envy 15 Radiance screen is very "glossy", what about reflections, I'm so used to matte screens.
I've been searching youtube & interent for some good photos or videos of the screen, can't realy find an answer.
I need to make a decision before the coupon expires (12/17)

    Thanks
