    Hi Guys

I just got my new Envy 17 3d today and when ever I play serious gaming it just reboots because of overheating. A black screens comes up after rebootting saying that the system was shut down because of high system temperature.

If I run Furmark and CPU stess test together it overheats again and reboots.

    My Temps: (See printscreen)
Board: Max: 106 celcius or around 200 F
    CPU: Max 90 celcius
    GPU: max 98 celcius

Does this happen to anabody else?

Im most likely to return the laptop and get a new one.

    My system: New Envy 17 3d, 2630QM, 1,3 TB(7200),6GB, Model: LM126AV

    Thanks

First thought that comes to mind...open HP Support Assistant and check to make sure that Coolsense is ON. That can help a great deal. Also make sure that NOTHING blocks the intake on the left bottom of the laptop...if it gets blocked or starved for air...you are going to overheat

i have an envy 14, but was having similar problems. not much of a gamer but decided to download team fortress2...since its free. after playing for 30 minutes to 1 hour game would shut down and reboot. looked at coretemp and it was 105c. yikes! tried lowering the game settings, didnt work. was racking my brain as to what was causing it since tf2 isnt exactly a very demanding game, so decided to take off the cover and started the computer up. ONLY SAW ONE OF THE FANS SPINNING. thought i would need a new fan, but then noticed that the fans plug wasnt all the way in. pushed it down and voila! now all the fans work properly. play tf2 for as long as i want and it never gets above 85c (even on high settings).
