I have the new Envy dv67-7214nr, and its trackpad is simply bad. Many a times when I put my finger on the trackpad, the mouse pointer gets "stuck" at some location and wont move no matter how much pressure I use. I have to lift my finger off the trackpad and try again to get it to move. Its probably the palm detection feature acting up. Other times, the pointer just keeps bouncing around. I have read about trackpad issues in recent notebooks from HP, so looks like HP still did not learn from their mistakes already. I have tried updating the drivers (updated to SP59085, Synaptics v.16.2.15.0), but the issue is still there. Is there any setting or other fix I could try to get the trackpad to behave?

EDIT: I also found that swiping gesture from the edge to bring up charms bar/app options bar is another problem. I am right handed and whenever I bring my right hand down on the trackpad and if it hits the trackpad close to its right edge, the charms bar opens up and most of the times it accidentally opens the start menu or settings charm. Its really really annoying. I can disable these edge motions from synaptics settings, but then I lose the easy way to interact with windows 8. This is my only big issue with this otherwise beautiful notebook. If you know of a possible fix, please share.
