So ive been lurking here for some time. and after wading through several threads I thought I would post up.

Got the GF a 14-1200CTO with the i5 in it this spring. Great running machine with all the bios updates and whatnot.

I just got my 14-2000CTO series with the lower level i7 in it. This computer is fantastic, and with 2gigs more ram and the i7 quite a bit snappier.

My question is that my multi-touch pad, with the 2 fingered scrolling works like a dream. Hers SUCKS!!! Can i install the driver from the sandy bridge computers on her 1st gen i5 notebook and get the same functionality. I found a thread where people were making their own programs to fix the terrible scrolling. I was simply wondering if I could use the official HP driver from my computer on hers.

and my i7 box is so much louder than her i5. Do they run THAT much hotter???

    thanks guys

actually the hp driver is really no different from the actual synaptic driver. just older, and with HP branding. lol

went on HP's Support drivers site for your GF's envy, and yes its the synaptic driver v15.1.6.64.

The current one is v15.2.20. just download it directly from synaptic here Drivers | Synaptics

thank you so much. I had been looking at using reil's application for the scrolling.
I will try to load this one up and see if it helps her out.

also, why can I not edit my signature? I cannot find anywhere to edit my sig.

    Thank you

    Welcome.

Use Reil's program. You will wonder how you ever got along without it lol.

Is the issue on just the 1000 series or does the 2000 series benefit from ahving reil's on there as well???

    User CP > Edit Signature.

User CP is in upper left-hand corner kinda right under search bar and you can just do a Ctrl-F for Edit Signature (first option though on left side).
