    New HD DVD-R Drive..

    Hey,
    Looks like HP has added the option to get a HD DVD-R with SuperMulti DVD+/-R/RW Double Layer drive on the dv9500t series. But for $575.00 I think that its a little steep but I guess you can watch HD DVD movies and burn them along with DVDs and CDs but still. Personally I wouldn't have gotten it anyways because not only does HD DVDs look like they will lose the next gen wars but also the burn speed is at grueling 1X..lol.

    So anyone plan on getting this or is bummed that they released it after you already ordered your notebook?

    personally i'm staying out of that shooting war until one side wins or there is a unified format. Plus at this price, HELL NO!!!

    That is soooo expensive. for pavilion desktop, btw, you can have BD writer + HD DVD (I guess read only) for USD 750. Unlucky for me, I don't live in the US

    well considering the HD-DVD player option was $425 when it came out, that aint too bad. just wish it was around when i bought mine!
