    Hey all,

I just got a new Envy 14 Beats a couple weeks ago and all is running well on it except one issue: my battery typically gets around 1 hour of life. Even with the power saver setting on, low screen brightness, and no backlight on the keyboard my battery indicator is reading 87% with 57 minutes. Is it possible for me to swap batteries with HP to see if a different one will fix the problem? Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

The new batch of Envy's that have shipped in the last 2 months seem to have a problem with Windows 7 reading the battery discharge rate. Windows 7 on my Envy 14 with Radiance screen that is about a month an a half old says 1 hr on a full charge. However, Battery Bar seems to estimate the correct time much better.

I think the consensus is is that it may be a BIOS issue..

It isn't, as I can get third party software to read just fine. (Has one that does this.)

Every envy that i'm aware of has this problem. The fix is battery bar (i use pro) its pretty sweet and has the same functions as windows but is accurate and looks nicer.

So are you just going off what a battery indicator says or are you measuring it yourself?

What I said before was the indicator, I've been using it for about an hour and a half now and it says 50% left...just doing web browsing, occasional music, etc. So I guess you guys were right. That's a relief then! But what's the typical battery life I should get out of an Envy?

To answer your question, yes HP will send you a new battery, you just need to call them and request it.
You will need to jump through a couple hoops but they will send you a new battery.
