    New HP/Compaq notebooks

    Finally two new models from HP. First one called Hp Pavilion DV1000. You may watch DVD or play MP3's without booting the OS. Other model is Compaq Presario V2000. They have pretty good price. Thay are also light (5.2 lbs) and includes many ports. There is no modular drive bay however. I would like to swap a modular battery for better battery life.

    I am excited to see them. The best thing, they may show up in stores like ZV, ZX znd ZD models. I was thinking to purchase Dell's new 700M . But I am glad I didnt rush things. These seem better than Dell.

    They're up on hp.com. 1.6 or 1.7GHz Pentium-M... and integrated graphics. Yuck. Only a 6 cell battery. Kinda expensive. More options on the Compaq model. The DVD thing is neat though.

    Still, I think we're going to see more from HP over the next month.
