Just saw these new models on the hpshopping site while I was checking on my dv8000z order status. Versions of the 8000 and 5000 with Intel core duo processors and nvida graphics cards. Prices are noticably higher than for the AMD systems, which also seem to have jumped up about $200 as some have noticed.
Unfortunately, HP doesn't have the spec's and options web pages set up yet so you can't actually configure one of these new babies.
Chris (since I'm new here, this link may not be hot)

l didn't see Nvidia mentioned anywhere.
-
Scroll down the Specs page while you're on the general DV8000/DV5000 spec page (the one where they list both the "Z" and "T" models) and you'll see the "T" models use an NVidia Geforce Go 7400 128MB. The "Z" models (Turions) still have the Xpress 200M.
-
The new models are denoted with a T after the dv8000/5000. Here are the spec's on the dv8000t:

Argh! When will HP notice that the Turion is a perfectly adept chip that needs the option of a good dedicated graphics card like the Nvidia!
-
It is indeed unfortunate that HP gives every single AMD notebook a low end ATi Xpress 200M. A Turion with a good dedicated GPU such as the X700 would be perfect for gaming. The DV8000z, for example, is a near perfect DTR destroyed by the Xpress 200M.
-
There is no point to use Turion 64 with a underpower Vcard.
My friend bought a 14'1 inch V2000Z with Turion64 and 200M. The battery life is pretty bad (1hr45min) and it is hot! Whats the point to use turion64 with 200M on a portable notebook? -
That seems a little off..it should be like around 2:30. -
That's very off. Also, the V2000z doesn't get hot, only warm. The only time I really noticed the heat was if it was left hibernating all day.
-
I may be missing something in plain sight but I don't see them. I did, however, see a link for the ze2000t??? But when I clicked on it it said "Unable to display the series page. Your request could not be completed. To visit the HP Home & Home Office Store home page, please click here."
A budget Core Duo or Core Solo, perhaps? -
Ah, they do show up when you click the "Compare by useage" button, but don't list any specs. Hm.
-
You need to go to the APP Home page to see them. I don't think they are at the regular Home store. Plus, there is a Compaq Core Duo v5000t.
-
-
Well, I don't think anyone mentioned it yet. ;P
-
-
Would a dual core with better video card have a better battery life (12 cell) then my maxed out dv5000?
