I haven't seen any threads on this netbook yet (too new I guess) so I thought I'd start one as I just ordered mine today.

My question: to keep costs down I ordered with wireless G. I have wireless N at my home and want to use that speed. If I buy one of those new tiny wireless N USB adapters will I be able to use that to surf with the netbook (would I have to turn off the internal wireless on the netbook first?).

The Trendnet USB wireless N adapter sells for less than $20 on eBay. Wireless N add on from HP when ordering this netbook is $50.

    My order:

HP Mini 210 Silver Crystal 1 GB ram 160 GB 5400 rpm hard drive, HD screen, Broadcom HD chip, wireless G, 3 cell battery, Windows XP. $398.36

Nice deal on that netbook, though for convenience it would've been better to spend the extra $50 for N wireless.
Depending on the adapter, you need to turn off the internal wireless in order for the USB one to work.

Unfortunately I couldn't afford the extra $50. I only want the wireless N for at home though. When traveling, which is the main use I wanted a netbook for anyway, most hotels etc are going to have wireless G I think..

I'm considering ordering the Mini 210 with the HD screen too. I was concerned the type might be too small. Please tell us how you like it after you receive it. Thanks.

Laptop is supposed to be ready by the 25th. I will post about the screen--I had some concerns about that also.

I will also try to post pics.

Picked up an HP Mini 210 at BB this weekend in Ontario (just arrived last Thursday-silver and red-I chose silver). Has the smaller HDD and no bluetooth but I'm liking it so far. Easy to read, and Quickweb feature is good. I plan to upgrade to 2G and install Broadcom mini PCIe HD decoder chip. I was also looking at the Asus eeePC 1005-PE (only available on newegg in Canada) but went with brick and mortar route instead. Battery has been awesome so far...approx. 6 hours of surfing so far and still 25% charge ! I'll see how the next little while goes and comment more if appropriate. Looking forward to hearing about others too...

I too am pretty interested in this netbook. I like the overall design of it and i'm glad there's one with a 1366x768 screen. I look forward to seeing your pics and your thoughts on this netbook.

My order status still says it will be ready by the 25th. I paid for the two day delivery so it should be here before the end of the month.

My main concern is the screen. I know, however, that you can increase the size of the font with the browser so it might not be as much of an issue as I think but we will see.

I also would like to hear from others who ordered with the 7200 rpm hard drive and if that makes the unit more hot and also how it affects battery life.

nice, they added color to the units - just like lenovo did with their x100e 'business grade' netbooks.
