Looking Good!
Customizing is expensive though![]()
Very interested. 1366x768 is a bummer on a 15" LCD though.

It's not half bad looking, but for the G value line it does get a little pricey after you start making some minor upgrades. The good news is that the base configuration is acceptable for most uses.
I bet the price drops a ton, this'll be the $299 Black Friday special come November. -
It actually look nice. Nicer looking than the DV6. Would be nice to have higher resolution
-
The right side kinda looks like a MacBook Pro - I have to assume the case isn't made out of aluminum at it's starting price ($599 today). A slimmer and more capable 15" system from HP is overdue. I still like the old dv6000/6500 series because they were slim and light compared to the dv6's. Too bad the dv6000 series was plagued with Nvidia graphics problems.

Still looks budget and has budget stuff for the price...
-
i am assuming it has the same Envy type keyboard but a cheaper plastic body.
-
I feel like it this is how HP combats against the plastic Macbook
All ports on the left side, looks like it has E2E,no big touch pad like envy,no chiclet keyboard. Hope HP doesnt make this an exact cheap version of Envy -
Ideally a 15" notebook should have
1680X1050 or higher LED
Touchpad like the Thinkpads.
Switchable graphics with 5 hour+ battery life
keyboard, thickness and body style of the envy/macbook
dual 1.8" SSD
blu-ray
4 USB
And you have a Winner -
your going to see a midlife of the dv6 and possibly others in the line up that will look similar.

Dont get it HP are utter rubbish to deal with if anything goes wrong and they are not great laptops!
