    Hi,

I ordered HP dv4t laptop (new espresso black) on 12th march. Estimate ship date was mentioned as 20th March, but still its not shipped.

Any idea how long does it take for HP to ship it? And how long it will take to reach SFO? I have opted for free standard shipping.

    Thanks,
    Bulletguy.

Standard shipping can go anywhere between 4 and 10 days, depending on where you live. I live in San Diego, so it took 6 days since the date of my unit production until it gets to my door. My unit actually shipped 2 days ahead of the estimated production date. Others got it shipped after.

Are you sure the date is the estimate ship date? When I ordered mine, the date is the estimate production date. That's the date when they get the parts together and assemble your system. Unless they send you an email with the tracking number, your unit is probably still in production.

I just got a Dv4t two weeks ago and love it!

    Cheers,
    Gnimble

That's interesting. I ordered the white dv4 on the 11th and it was supposed to be built by the 23rd. Mine still hasn't shipped either. I'm gonna wait another 48 hours to see if things change. I may cancel my order though, since they've dropped the price and I cannot afford to wait around much more.

Last year a friend ordered a bronze dv7 and got his unit in 9 days flat. I'm curious to know why HP is now experiencing the delay.

My laptop is still stuck in China. Called Fedex and got reply that due to volcano in Alaska all fedex flight were disrupted. They said it will surely reach before next Tuesday, but I really doubt as it is still in china and not shipped.

    Picked up
    KUNSHAN CN
    Package received after FedEx cutoff

In my case, I got around 350$ off with coupons and same configuration is available for extra 100$ so it doesn't make sense to cancel/return it.

Hope Fedex delivers it via some alternate route. If they can't there is serious issues with their process of handling exceptions due to nature.

    1. I don't get it why Fedex has to send the units to Alaska only. Logistically I see the purpose, but if a volcano is causing logistical problems, they should divert flights to a "lower-48" location. Anchorage is not the only place in the US that has customs.

    2. You're lucky if you got $350 off. I only managed to get $150 off my order, although HP did send me a $50 coupon for the delay - I'd rather just cancel and wait for one of their 30%-off deals.

My laptop started its journey from Shanghai.
Fedex customer care told it will be landing in Oakland, CA instead of AL. So will get it faster. I'll be happy if I get it by Friday :).

    CJisohsocool,

I'll try to upload photos, but will take a while.

    Luscious,

Next time when you purchase laptop search web for coupons. I got a coupon which had 25% off stack able on top of standard $150 rebate. You can even order by phone, and ask for discount, even they can provide some extra discount on top of standard rebate.
