same, very happy with the dv7t here. besides, it says the new models have the discrete graphics cards.
im loving the dv7t and, if another 30% coupon comes up, im ordering another decked out dv4z or dv5t. -
This news is pretty old!

One big point to hold buying DV7:
Full HD (1920 x 1080) 16:9 Ultra Wide Display. Enjoy a viewing angle of
140 degrees (vs. standard 90) and significatnly enhanced brightness, color
and clarity with the HP Full HD Ultra BrightView Infinity display.(8)

Practically speaking this new HDX is just a small increase in screen size and resolution.
I'm very pleased with the dv7t I've got coming here.
Besides 18' is starting to get a little ridiculous for laptop sizes...might as well go all out and get a nice desktop computer IMO... -
Oh boy, 1920x1080..... all the better to end up with your subtitles and captions on TOP of the video instead of sitting beneath it! Now, when you play a 16:9 video and have the playback controls visible.... you'll have black bars on all four sides!

When you watch 16:9 video on a 16:10 display, the black bars give you room for those things such as subtitles..... but when the display is 16:9, there's no room for anything.

Hi... I recently bought a HP HDX16 1056CA from BestBuy in Canada. Very happy with it so far, but would like to upgrade it and am very frustrated with HP with the fact that there are NO options of upgrading the existing configuration.
I desperately would like some info/help regarding ANY POSSIBLE means to upgrading my existing graphic card (512 MB NVIDIA 9600GT) to a 1GB AND upgrade my existing display (1366x768p) to a full-HD (1920x1080).
Earliest replies are deeply appreciated. Thanx ... -
90% of laptops are limited in upgrades, vishalmm. The most you can do is upgrade the RAM and HDD
you can buy special laptops that are build-it-yourself, OCZ i think makes some, not sure on others
