    Hi All,

I am new to the forums. I ordered my first HP notebook last week. I was reading some of the negative reviews and hope I did not make a mistake! I've owned Dell notebooks in the past, and now decided to try HP.

This is how I customized my PC. I will be using it for personal and business - will use MS Office, internet, nothing too complicated.

HP Pavilion dv6700t customizable Notebook PC

Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium with Service Pack 1 (64-bit)

    Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo Processor T5750 (2.0GHz)

    15.4" diagonal WXGA High-Definition HP BrightView Widescreen Display (1280 x 800)

    3GB DDR2 System Memory (2 Dimm)

256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS - For Core 2 Duo Processors

    160GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive

HP Imprint Finish (Radiance) + Microphone

    Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection

SuperMulti 8X DVD+/-R/RW with Double Layer Support

    6 Cell Lithium Ion Battery

My total (Tax and Shipping + my EPP discount and 5% HP coupon) was $765.

    What do you think?

Also, it is scheduled to ship on Tuesday (8/19), but I was hoping it would ship earlier. It still says Order In Production!

VERY NICE! A relative of mine has the DV6000 series notebook and they enjoy it a lot. It's lightweight and has a lot of battery life for those long durations on the can... :)

Looks like a decent setup, and the dv6000 series are sharp looking notebooks. For $765, it is definitely a bargain.

As for the ship date, weekends don't count (so no status updates would be made).

Thanks! Hopefully, it will ship out tomorrow, otherwise I will have to wait for Tuesday! :)

I was debating between this system and the DV5z, but I did not know if I wanted an AMD processor. The DV5t was out of my price range with the configuration I wanted.
