Been searching for a bit on this one, have come across a few conflicting reports  .

Here is the situation. I have a user with an xb2000 docking station. His current HP is dying so he wants a new laptop that will be able to utilize the same docking station. I was looking at a dv5-1250us, which has an Expansion Port 3, and I understand that the xb2000 uses the Expansion Port 2 connector.

I've seen an adapter that will allow you to use a newer docking station with an older laptop, but it doesn't appear to work the other way around.

Could someone please clarify this for me?

    Thanks
