    Hi All:

    New to the site, very informative and helpful.

    I recently purchased an HP Pavilion m9000 and am very happy with Vista and the desktop. I am now in the market for a laptop and possibly tablet and plan on sticking with HP. If I had to buy today, I would go with the dv2700SE and have configured a model or two and the specs appear solid.

    That being said, I have a few more weeks and am wondering if there are any websites or you guys have any sense of upcoming laptops from HP??? :confused:

    Although the dv2700 series has solid technical specs, from a weight and size perspective it is not exactly a lightweight compared to the Dell XPS 13xx and Sony SZ series. YES, I realize that the screen dimensions are a little bit smaller with the Dell and Sony, but clearly their size and weight is attractive with the slot loading DVD and much thinner frame.

    Any thought or information would be appreciated.

    Thanks. :)

    I can tell you this;

    In may/June Intel will be releasing their Montevina platform which means new lappies from everyone including HP. I'm waiting for the new HDX that should debut sometime this summer.

    The DV2700t is fairly new so I doubt they will release a new model till Montevina comes out.

    1067mhz front side bus (compared to 667/800 currently) Getting you closer to current desktop perfomance.
    DDR3 800mhz Ram (as compared to DDR2 667 currently)
    PCIe 2.0 (as compared to PCIe 1.0-1.1 currently)
    Lower power consumption = better battery life.
    Robson 2 (supposedly much improved over Robson 1 which HP/DELL didn't use b/c it didn't offer any improvements on 2GB RAM and higher machines. Supposedly, Robson 2 will markedly improve system boot up time.)
