    Hi, all

Does any model in the new HP Pavilion lineup (dm4, dv5, dv6 and dv7) with discrete ATI Radeon graphics support the use of two (or more) external monitors concurrently, whilst retaining the use of the notebook's own screen with independent resolution?

    Thanks!

No, but the Envy 14 can do 2 monitors and the 17 4 monitors.

    Thanks for the reply, jaakobi.

Just to clarify, can the Envy 17 do three or four external monitors, and can the notebook's own screen still be used independently (ie, not cloned)?

    Thanks again.

It's 3 external displays, through minidisplayport, HDMI, and VGA.

I don't really know the answer to your second question, but Eyefinity should do up to 6 monitors, and idea behind the monitors is that they can be grouped. so you can have 3 of them act as one monitor and another 3 can be extended displays that act as independent ones. In the Youtube video of the Envy 17, they showed it with 3 monitors connected and the internal display off. I think it might be an indication that can only handle 3 monitors at once.

Edit- originally I said 4 monitors, but again, I really have no idea. I can only go by what is in the youtube video.
