    I was scavenging for information on the new santa rosa Pavilion models and I found these little flash demonstrations on the HP site:

    LINK=> click
    (Scroll down and click either the dv2500, dv6500, or dv9500)

    It appears there will now be an option for a built in fingerprint reader as well as a new version of the imprint finish :) That's about it for the cosmetic/design changes, though. They still look the same as their older relatives.

    Also, I would bet the the new Pavilions will b released before May 12th.

    If you check out the following web page (a rebate info page for $80 back on deskjet/photosmarts with purchase of a CTO pavilion) it lists the dv6500t as a qualifying model eligible for the rebate. The rebate also happens to end on May 12th.... ;)

    Sigh... I liked the old Compaq logo better...

    Any word on any new developments regarding the partnership between Vodoo and HP?

    I guess it is a sign that they are not going to abandon the consumer end of the brand after all (even though the onsite product selection lately suggests otherwise).

    I did notice that there is no V3500t listed, so the 14.1" Compaqs may not be returning any time soon.(?) No mention of a big strapping V9500t 17" either, but that is really no surprise. ;)
