The envy line is supposed to be the performance line isnt it? what makes the customizable pavillions worse than the envy 14 in terms of performance? I was just wondering because i was debating which laptop to get. Also, when are all the newer pavillions going to be released?

Well, most of the Pavilions are equal in respect to their processors. In GPU, weight, form factor, and battery life are where they are deficient in respect to the Envies. I believe the highest GPU in the Pavilion line is a 5650 which is only on the DV6 (16 inch) and up. The Envy 14 has a 5650 and is much smaller. The Envy 17 has a 5850 which blows any card in the Pavilion line. Also the bigger DV's lack switchable graphics, so battery life is limited to like around 4 hours as opposed to the Envy 14's 6 hours or so. Plus with a slice battery that doubles to 12-13 hours. Pavilions, just don't have that type of longevity. Form factor. The Pavilions look nice and have an excellent design IMO. But they are still thicker and heavier than the Envy lineup.

ok thanks for clearing that up.. i was wondering if the pavillions were thicker.. because ive seen a video stating the some pavillions maybe the dm4 and another were less than an inch thick. Im assuming that is only at the thinnest point in the notebook. The envies are slightly larger than 1 inch right?
