Does anybody have any news/info regarding the release of hp's new special edition (SE) laptops? I'm only speculating that new SE laptops are coming, since all current SE laptops (in the UK atleast) are being discontinued.
If nothings going to crop up soon then i may just grab a bargain with the current models (unless dell's new studio xps surfaces in the mean time).

I don't think we'll see any special editions soon because HP just released their new notebooks. For example, when the dv6000 came out, the first special edition was the influx during the dv6400 series. For the dv2000, the verve came out during the dv2500 series. Right now, the dv4, dv5, and dv7 are at the -1000 series. Who knows, HP might surprise us. Usually the 17 inch models don't get a special edition, but a dv7se would be cool. Maybe they might even make a tx2500se, or start a custom design edition.
I really wanted to get a dv4t and give my artist edition to my sister, but I don't really like the black lid. I'll wait for a dv4tse and upgrade then, but I think it would be cool if they brought the current special edition designs to the new notebooks. A dv4t artist edition, verve, or thrive would be nice, but I don't think that mirror trackpad would match. Special Editions are usually just a new imprint finish, but I do hope HP adds more touches to make it "Special". Maybe a backlit keyboard perhaps, slot loading drive, or an LCD trackpad. -
Thanks for the heads up regarding release dates. I suppose I'll have to take the dv2899ea artist edition as the dv4t in the UK doesn't have good specs (only one configuration is available)
