I picked up a 1024 x 768 resolution BrightView V2000 this weekend at BestBuy. I really like this unit, but I'm a little frustrated with the apparent lack of screen controls. I've found the brightness up / down function keys (F7 and F8), but when turned "up" the picture get's fairly washed out... When I turn the brightness down, there's not enough contrast for my taste.

I've read the owners manual, but can't seem to find any other controls. Am I missing something?

    Thanks!

I think there's only a brightness adjustment on all new notebooks. To adjust the contrast, I guess the only way is to make changes to your display driver settings under Display Properties -> Advanced.

try going under start -> settings -> control panel -> display -> settings tab. See if you can change the Screen Resolution to 1280x768. Your screen contrast should get sharper and more clear. Hope that helps.

If it has ati video card, you should be able to change
    contrast from ati's setting.

    Try,

    right mouse button,
    properties
    settings
    advanced

Look fro ATI's tab on the top. It's usually under
Color. I don't like the defaults either.

It will make a huge difference once you change the
    contrast.

I would also like to adjust my ati settings from the default but when I do and make a profile, it doesn't load at start up. It appears to but then it reverts back to the default. My son has a the same unit and his will hang on to the new profile settings on reboot. Has anyone experienced this?

    Thanks,
    Melody

Set your ATI settings, make a profile named "desktop" with those settings, save it, and also hit the apply. It should stick on bootup. (is your Windows profile an administrator?)

If not, download some newer Catalyst drivers, and install.

Digital displays (basically all notebooks) can only adjust brightness and must adjust contrast through software.

Change the angle of the screen!!!!! I.E. the "tilt"

It is fast, it is an on the go alteration, and it is the best way!
