I finally opened my box (after 2 days[:I]) and examined my notebook. It is great! All specs are OK and there appear to be no dead Pixels (did not do the all black/white test, but display looks vibrant and nothing out of place).[] However, I have some questions.
Question #1 has already been answered.
There may be more questions to follow (under this same topic) as I get more in to exmaining the notebook and testing everything out. I will just keep adding questions noting them as new, pushing the already answered questions down.
Thank you in advance.
(ANSWERED)1. I installed the battery. When I took it out the bubbled plastic, it stated that it was not charged. The Startup and Reference guide says there will be an orange light while the battery is charging and a green light when the battery is completely charged. OK, when I plug in the computer for the first time, I expected the light to be orange...battery charging. The light was GREEN (i.e. meaning fully charged).
a. Do these batteries charge instantly? I thought it took several hours.
b. Could I have received a fully (or partially) charged battery even though the package and little slip said it was not charged?
c. OR is something wrong?
I am leaving it plugged in overnight to continue charging just to make sure.

Congrats on the notebook purchase!
To answer your questions:
No, the battery will take a while to charge if totally depleated. All batteries fully charged by HP, but they put that notice because sometimes the notebooks/batteries may sit in storage for a while so the battery may lose it's charge after that time. It's mainly an FYI so people don't freak out if the batteries dead when they use it for the first time. You got nothing to worry about, everything's fine with the battery.

There's a forum for answering all your questions on the zt3000 at http://www.x1000forums.com/
They've got 4,000 members with lots of shared info on this laptop. -
Yes, I am aware of it. Thanks. I do check there too. However, right now, I am not a member. You can not do a search on that forum unless you become a member. The battery question did not stick out. So, I decided to ask on this forum.
