I am going to receive my new DV6500t today! yay!
I just had a few questions about the battery:

I will have a high capacity 6 cell battery

    1) So, straight out of the box, should i put the battery in the notebook and charge it WITHOUT turning it on?
Should i let it charge all the way until the blue light goes off then turn it on for the first time to set up vista?

    OR

    2) Should i put the battery in the notebook not knowing if it has been fully charged before shipment and turn on the notebook to set up vista?

which one of this option is best for my battery?

No. The A/C adaptor is capable of charging the battery while providing the necessary power to run the notebook. So, it is pretty much similar to charging the battery while it is turned off.

It's a li-ion battery and won't have the memory effect. The battery is probably charged a bit anyways... sometimes 80%
