Hi
I have an HP dv6-1154TX notebook which has a mobility radeon 4650 graphics card. I read in a thread in this forum that you can overclock the GPU in the new version 9 catalyst drivers. When I go to the AMD site, there is no HD4650 under mobility radeon driver list. Actually there are no HD series cards at all, only the older x1900, etc.. So do the HD series mobility radeons use the normal radeon drivers?
Sorry for being a noob about mobility radeon drivers, but this is my first personal notebook. (I just joined uni).

This should work as an overclocking tool. Do be careful with it and watch the temps. -
Thanks a ton Johnny T.
I'm hoping for around 15-20% OC both mem and core. I've never OC'd an ATI before. As far as I remember you can't separately control the shader speed?
Can you please also answer my question? If I want to update, do I need to download the normal Radeon catalyst version 9 drivers from the AMD site? Because the site doesn't list any HD4xxx or HD3xxx cards under "mobility radeon".
Thanks again. -
ATi does not allow shader control separate from core clock, yes. Funny thing that it does not appear under Mobility Radeon, i swear i saw them an hour ago. Now they don't appear here either...
Anyway, use the driver from HP and i think you'll be fine. At least i am.Or you can try the "Mobility Modder" which will make the desktop drivers support mobile chips, pretty much same as the guys at laptopvideo2go.com do for nvidia. http://www.driverheaven.net/modtool.php

Sorry for being so late in replying.
Thanks Unique, I'll download the HP drivers.
I'll also try the mobility modder some time.
