Hi, my new dv2500t shipped today (almost 9 days early from when it was expected to ship).

Anyways, I notice a lot of bloatware on the notebook and I don't know which ones to keep and which to remove (except for the obvious ones like WildTangent and such).

Can someone give me a rundown of some programs I should uninstall? I was planning on doing a clean Vista install but I don't feel like reinstalling drivers and stuff. I am aware I'm not completely getting rid of the bloatware but I'm happy to just uninstall a lot of it.

    Thanks in advance.

Reinstalling drivers is much easier than getting rid of all the bloatware.

Your best bet is to do a reformat and do a clean install of the OS

I'm in the same scenerio. Ordered dv9500t and want to uninstall bloatware. I will be keeping Norton as we ordered the 15mon subscription with it. We've had Norton on our current Notebook and it works great.

I don't care to reinstall drivers. I just want to uninstall bloatware.

OutsideTheBun, what was your built by date when you ordered? Mine is Dec 7th and am hoping they ship early.

Thanks for the tips guys, however, the other reason why I don't want to do a fresh install is because I don't have the upgrade disc needed. However, I might buy it. My question is, does uninstalling the bloatware programs get rid of them or do I have to mess with the registery and all that?

And to the above poster, my build date was December 4th, 2007, and I got my laptop yesterday morning, November 29th.

Wow thats fast processing and shipping. Comparing your dates to ours, we'd get ours on Tues 12/4, with a build date of 12/7. And its not shipped yet so won't get here by then. I wish though! What date did yours actually ship?
