Im purchasing a new Seagate hard drive for my ZV6100, and using my old hard drive in an external enclosure. I was wondering if I will be able to use the Windows XP CD that was supplied with my laptop for the new drive, and if I needed to back up all my data for transfering. Or would it be safe to transfer my data from the old drive to the new drive via usb in the enclosure. Thanks a lot

With Ghost from Symantec/Norton you can even transfer the system partition from your old drive to the new, and won't need to install Windows from start.

And yes, you can use your Windows XP cd with the new drive.

You don't really need to back up your data
