I am looking for a laptop on Black Friday for $800 and I have been looking at the HP Sleekbook 6z with the upgrade to the AMD A10-4600 and backlit keyboard. I also see the HP Envy dv6z is around the same price when similarly configured.

I am trying to figure out which one more suits me but I am not 100% sure of the pros cons of each.

    HP Envy dv6z
    + configurable with FHD screen
    + configurable with AMD 7670 2GB GPU
    + ODD
    + easier to upgrade
+Holiday100 coupon code takes an additional $50 off

    HP Envy Sleekbook 6z
    + thinner
    + lighter
    + slightly cheaper

I read some negative reviews about the mushy feeling of the Sleekbook keyboard. Which one should I go with?

Ended up with the base Sleekbook for $399 off Amazon. Will build a desktop to game.

So long as you have an alternative for when you need more power and a higher resolution screen, the Sleekbook makes sense. If it were my full time machine I'd go with the ENVY dv6z with Full HD screen -- it's an awesome panel and you'd have enough power with an A10 and 7670 graphics. For $399 you can't go too wrong, especially if you live in a state that doesn't tax Amazon purchases.
