This is a question for all of you that have placed an order online with hp on a CTO notebook.

I placed my order on april 13, hp automatically estimated that it would be built by april 24. That is 7 business days (exculding sat. and sun.)

Have any of you had an experience where hp would have it ready for shipment before the estimated date? If so by how much before the estimated did they ship it (ex: 3-2 days before estimated date.)

Next once FedEx has it, using the standard shipping option, how long did it take (business days) FedEx to deliver it to your house?

    thanks!

Well, I believe my brother's V2000z shipped about 2 days before estimate. It took about 2-3 days to arrive.

It should be pretty cloe to their estimate. Sometimes they do send it earlier than their ship date. HP do honor the ship dates most of the times unless there is some specific part which might be on backorder and delay it.

Fedex is pretty good in delivery, I had ordered a business desktop and Fedex took 4 days to deliver and they deliver on Saturdays too :).

Man I must have got lucky, Mine was ordered on the 10th of April, and estimated build date of the 20th.

Well lets just say it was finished on the 15th, shipped out ( was recieved after cut off in china on the 15th by fedex, which was a friday...

And..... it was estimated delivery on the 19th, it got there on the 17th... so basically it was almost like overnight, and I did get the Free Ground shipping option, which it came Federal Express instead of ground.

I got mine on the day of the estimated ship date. HP sent me an email with a tracking number 2 days before it actually arrived.

Ordered a dv8000t on March 7th, Estimated Ship Date was March 21st, Shipped 1 week late, arrived on my doorstep on March 28th.

Not quite sure why this happened, but you should be aware that shipping delays are always possible, regardless of who you deal with.

Just to give an update I received a tracking number from hp for my laptop 2 days (april 20) before the estimated built/ship date(April 24).

I picked the standard shipping option which is ground, though HP shipped it express and it will be arriving here on April 25 directly from CHINA!
    Woohooo :D :D :D :D Can't wait to use my first laptop!
