    New to purchasing Monitors, what do i need?

    I own a 8510p, and i'm just looking into purchasing a monitor. I looked around the forum a bit, and i think a 22 would be most appropriate for me, its afforadable (in the 200 - 300) range. And i would like something with lots of input options.

    I think that if the monitor has HDMI i can use it for game console (360/ps3), what do i need to use it as a TV?

    Also do i need a laptop stand to really make the monitor usefull?

    please fill me in on what i need and what monitor would be good for my purposes (movies, school, games, affordable)
