Ok, I just bought my new zv6000 yesterday, but I am notcing some unusual lock-ups when shuting down or starting up. The computer will simply freeze when starting up/shuting down, and I will have to manually shut down the computer, holding down the power button. Is this bad for the computer? Should I exchange the laptop for a different one?
Thanks to anyone who can help!!

if you are noticing lockups right away, then I would get a new one.
-
You could play around with the start up programs to see if any of those is mucking things up. A fresh install might help.

same thing goes for my zv6000
Every now and then when shuting down it would freeze during the shutdown process..but never during bootup.
I find it happens if I just come right off the net and go to shutdown..wonder if it has anything to do with the wireless? -
I also forgot to mention: My display latch is letting off an excessive amount of "squeekieness" and makes a horrible sreech everytime I open the laptop up. Any suggestions to make it stop?
Thanks -
I'd take/send it back for replacement.

I think this is a windows bug, sometimes this happens. Viruses and programs can also cause this behavior. Only thing that does not sound right is that it happens on a brand new notebook with no additional software or changes to it as I understand it.
