Hi all, I am new to the site because I really need help. I have an HP DV6620ea notebook and I have downgraded to XP. However, I can't for the life of me find a driver for wireless or ethernet. I have a membership of driveragent.com which always finds me drivers after a scan but I can't get online on the notebook to do a scan!

Please if anyone can point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated.

    Steve

PS I have Broadcom componants but all the drivers I have found are for vista and don't work.

Thanks for the link Flipfire, much appreciated. I will givethat a go when I get home from work. I am not quite sure about editting the .inf files as I am not that clever when it comes to that kind of thing but from my experience so far there are people here that know their stuff.

    Thanks again, Steve

Many thanks to Flipfire for pointing out the How2 on finding XP drivers for my laptop and to TheDave for writing it! After a bit of editing I got them all to work.

However, the sound drivers are acting a bit strange. I have full control via the quick launch buttons but when booting up the last configuration is forgotten. By this I mean that the volume comes on full volume no matter what it was set to at shut down.

Has anyone had experience of this? It is quite frustrating and I have no idea how to solve it. Any ideas?

Yes if you know the brand of your audio card, you can try using other drivers that might compatible.

Thanks again for all your help. I now have everything up and running. The thing is running better than ever.

It is amazing how much that vista rubbish slows everything down. Graphics look crisper and I don't think I've seen the egg timer for a week!
