Hi all:
Im having an issue that started since I upgraded to Windows Vista about a month ago. Sound no longer comes out of the built-in speakers on the laptop.
I have reinstall the newest drivers, the oldest drivers, and every driver in between. I have read threads for days and have downloaded a patch ( http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...n&cc=us&lang=en&os=228&product=3284495&dlc=en) that "Fixes issue where the notebook speakers do not work after headphones or earphones are used for a while and then unplugged.", which is exactly what happended in my case (my kids had the headphones plugged in for a while).
However, the patch did not work, and in fact removed all noticeable drivers from my computer.
I am lost. I have tried everything for days. If there is anybody who has encountered this issue, or has heard of any fixes, or has any recommendations as to what I should do, I would appreciate your help incredibly. I am unfortunately out of warranty already, so that is not an option.
Thanks again!

it is unclear to me whether or not you installed the HD audio drivers after installing the patch which removed all drivers.
if you didnt do that, then try it and lets hope it works
does the sound still come when the headphones are plugged in? -
hi,
thx for your response,
yes the sound still comes out (with the new drivers, not when the "patch" is installed) if speakers/headphone is plugged in, just not out of internal speaker.
I have tried updating drivers (by having windows search for newest drivers) after installing the patch, yes.
