Hey, recently I encountered problems with my audio not working at all and had a message such as 'no audio output is installed' or something.

Anyway I got the main speakers working through the 'hp update' tool i believe (i had tried a few options) but now, when I went to watch a tv show I put my headphones in and the audio continues to come out through the main speakers rather than the headphones.

I searched about already and people talking about setting headphones as the default device on the sound control panel, well the headphones dont show up on their when I plug them in just the speakers and SPDIF. I had no trouble before I lost the audio so possibly a driver problem?

I have a Pavillion dv9700 on vista home premium 32-bit if that info is needed

    Any help is appreciated, thanks
