    No POST on Pavilion dv2214us (dv2000 series)

    Hello Guys need help here...
    I Turned on the computer, power lights came on and the hard drive light flashed once then nothing!

    Screen black, no sounds, nothing but the blue power/control LED light on, the charging light on. any ideas how to fix this? i tried disassembling the unit reseated the processor and found no luck just a waste of time.

    if you have something to share please post a link review or any...

    Did you hear a series of beeps? If you did, the video is kaput. Did you inadvertantly press the external video option? fn/f4? I once had the same problem and it was the video chip but it did beep during boot.
    You can also try to 1. take out the battery for a minute, reboot 2. disconnect the backup battery, re-install and reboot. If it still doesn't boot then it needs repair.

    thanks for the reply. as of now no beeps. after i plug it in with a AC adapter it turns on automatically and thats it only the controls lights are lit and no display or any activity. the HDD spins for a sec and then shuts. even the processor fan is not spinning.... huhuhuhuhuh

    Sounds like you have a hardware issue. I would send it back in, if I were you! In addition, make sure that the little switch to detect screen closure is not active or depressed in some way. This may cause some issues as well!

    Hi SCI-FI!

    Would you tell us what happened now to your Laptop? what is your findings and resolutions, cause i'm having the same problem right now.

    i already open it and check the screen switch on right hinge, it seems working.

    i run diagnostic test but no problem found.

    hi rasec,

    what i did is to return the unit to the HP service for repair. got no choice and lucky its still under warranty and they told me that they replace the whole motherboard. i dont know why it happens but still im glad they fix my lappy and running like a brandnew.
