    Hey guys,

When watching a Blu-ray disc from my HP HDX18, I can't seem to get audio to come through on my brand new LCD TV, through HDMI. The computer is recognizing the connection, and video is great. I'm using IDT hi-def audio, and I've verified that HDMI output is set as the audio default. I connected this notebook to my dad's plasma TV a few days ago, through his receiver, and it was completely plug-n-play: both audio and video worked perfectly with no change to the settings at all.

I called my TV manufacturer's support, and the only thing they could tell me was to use a mini-jack cable for the audio. I actually tried this, but the sound was awful: background and sound effects came through loudly, but dialogue was way too low. Besides, doesn't this defeat the purpose of the "one connection" HDMI cable?

I also tried using the same HDMI cable to connect my upconverting DVD player to the TV, and I was able to get both audio and video. Could this be a limitation of the TV, or is there something else I need to do with the computer?

I appreciate any help at this point!
