    I am having a sony vaio, today when i switched on............the screen is completely blank............what can be the reason?

    Might help if you posted in the Sony forum. :) This is the HP & Compaq forum.

    Now to your question. It could be that your LCD inverter went bad or your LCD backlight burned out.
