Now you have to pay $25 if you want the Brightview screen on the dv2000t...when before it came at no cost...any ideas why?
perhaps they got enough complains about their cheap SEC screens? why would you pay $25 more to get a crappy screen maybe they stopped using them...just a thought...

I thought BrightView was just the glossy screen cover installed by HP to improve contrast. I'm pretty sure you can have any manufacturer of screen with BirghtView or w/o.

    Hi All,
Does anybody else think that maybe with all the talk about improved color and vibrance that goes along with the Brightview screen that maybe it is not only the surface finish that is upgraded bit also the backlights that are different. Would make a lot of sense all things considered.

Hey, trust me, the Brightview screen really hurt my eyes! Therefore, I usually have to dim it to comfort my eyes.

Brightview is not just a shinny coating but it does enhance the color, brightness, and makes it easy for you to clean =P.....unscientific point of view; however, technically speaking its a coating that does help out the appearance of the screen causing the screen to look better just like how oil is used on camera lense for clarity.

HP has always charged for the Brightview upgrade. The free upgrade was probably just a promotional offer.

HP rotates those promotion offers. They may give free dvd upgrade, or RAM upgrade, or bluetooth upgrade...or 150 cash back, which I like the most :)
