I have a Compaq Presario 2410CA (basicly a v2000z)
I am looking to buy the 12 cell battery for it but its $200CAD on hp's site.
I have found tons of non-oem batteries of the same model claiming they are just as good as the real deal.
Are they just as good and does anyone here have one?
Thank You Very Much

I personally would not get battery made by someone other than Compaq.

In U.S dollars, HP sells the 12 cell on their website for about $170-180. CompUSA sells it for $150 and at times, they've been selling em for $100. Maybe the same applies to you Canadians?

Might want to check Ebay as well.

I checked ebay and all the batteries were the non-oem ones
PS. Does the 12 cell battery make the laptop noticably heavier? -
It does add weight, but it it is not huge in my opinion. It also sticks out from the a bit form the botton giving it a little rise. Some people like it, others do not.

Thanks now only if I could find it in canada for cheaer then $200 without tax and shipping

Yeah I ddn't see much on ebay either. Got anything up there like pricegrabber where you could search by the HP part number?
-
So anyone where I can get the battery other then directly from HP in Canada?
Thanks -
I"m not sure if this info will do you any good, but if you are close enough to the border to drive.... my friend in Vancouver drives down here to Seattle to buy electronics these days, since the exchange rate is so much improved for Canadians lately. Since you are taking it for "export", many stores (I know for sure Circuit City, probably CompUSA too) will not charge you State sales tax. And you won't pay your GST or PST either, so that might save you some ca$h.
But that's pointless if you are not close enough to the border to drive to the States. -
Well I also live in Vancuver but I don't have a wa of getting to seattle anytime soon.
Non-OEM battery
