Hi everyone! I have a Compaq Presario 2100 and, one unhappy day, the battery led started blinking. After a while, I understood the battery (hp f4809a) was suddenly dead. So I bought a non-hp replacement battery from Hong Kong. The battery arrived and when I inserted it... nothing happened: the led keep blinking as if no battery is inside the laptop! Basically the pc doesn't recognize it: I checked then the hardware manager to try to force the installation, but it just doesn't see it or can't find the right driver and, as a consequence, it doesn't charge it. So I checked the battery and it is perfect except that the voltage is 14.4 instead of 14.8. Can this be the problem? Is anyone able to help me?

Did you try running the laptop on AC power alone? Because if it doesn't work, you might have a fried processor, just like my brother.

Well...if the computer boots....I doubt its a fried processor...are you sure the battery is the same type and it isn't DOA? HK batteries are better known for their scams and unreliability, but you get what you pay for usually.

Laptop works with AC,but... What does DOA mean?
Non-original batteries
