That temperature doesn't sound great, but it's not bad either.
What do temperatures get to if you run something like Prime95 on small FFTs?
On my Computer (which isn't HP), CPU temperatures range from 40-70C max depending on what I'm doing. -
-
Those temps sound completely normal. I think you should be fine.

yeh but for some reason when i have my laptop flat on the glass surface, i get around 55ish to 60c as a temperature, do you think its recommended to elevate this laptop? and does room temperature also play a role in my laptop temperature?
-
If elevating the laptop in turn reduces temperatures, then you can do that.
Room temperature will affect the laptop temperature as the laptop pushes air through the heatsinks to reduce the temperature of internal components. -
thanks man, so is elevating a laptop a common thing in laptops even HPs? because i see most people with HPs elevate their laptop because the lack of airflow from the bottom

I am looking to order a DV6TQE. Pretty sure I'll have to stick it up on a laptop cooling pad. Quad core beasts will use a lot of power and generate heat in the process.
From my experience, except for the netbooks or full aluminium body laptops like the macbooks, for most others, it's probably good to have them on a flat surface with a decent air flow around or on a cooling pad.
I have used a Dell 510m and a D-410 and have used them on cooling pads with a large fan (better airflow at lower speed and noise).
Normal temperature for HP Pavilion DV6z or DV6t?
