I had to return my dv5t to best buy because it was falling apart, then i had to return the one i got because of a stuck pixel the same day.

i was under the impression that all the Dv5t's had a p8400 (or whatever it is) processor, that with the new BIOS update, would recognize that and then list the processor as a 2.26, 2.27 or so and some users got a ram up.

i updated my bios, and it still says its the old processor.
is this a problem? whats going onnnnnn i liked it saying 2.26 on my first laptop.

Of course not, they're customizable! Are you sure they gave you the same model back?

edit: although a store may only carry certain pre-configured models...

So the gist of this is, you bought the dv5t at a retail store, Best Buy, preconfigured. Since you returned it, they gave you another dv5t, with maybe the same preconfigured specs, you didn't state it clearly. Now they gave you another one with a different configuration than your first one. -_- All I can say is, you should have bought it from HP themselves and preconfigured it to your likings (and pay a possibly cheaper price w/ coupon, specially 1-2 weeks ago, 400$ off).

    edit: It's not HP's fault.

If it's possible, I would recommend returning it for your full money back, and as chango suggested, by from the HP store with a coupon. :)

The BIOS doesn't magically change the processor. Most likley, either an incorrect cpu was installed in the system from the factory or the BIOS update showed the incorrect cpu speed. What did the system spec sheet for the model you got mention was it the p7350 or p8400? If it was the p8400 then you have reason to ask a refund, if it was the p7350 then you got what you paid for.
