Hey everyone. I have a moderately new dv7t, 2.0 ghz cure 2 duo, 3gb ram, and a 9600m gt. The problem I'm experiencing is one I've never encountered on any computer before.

Every 10 mins or so, my mouse just freezes. Using the trackpad allows me to move my mouse still, but any usb mouse I have plugged will cease to work for about 15-20 seconds. I highly doubt its a problem with the mouse itself because I've tested others and got the same results. Also, during the 15-20 seconds when the mouse stops moving, the little circle "busy" sign will flash on and off a couple times....then the mouse will resume working. Have you guys heard of something like this before? Really weirds me out. Oh, and during one of those times the mouse froze, I got a prompt saying "Microsoft sync Center has stopped working". Are these problems related? Keep in mind the sync center prompt only happened once.

Does the mouse have extra buttons? Maybe you are pressing one of those.

I know it is a little far fetched, but I am just throwing it out there.

Also, have you tried updating the drivers from the HP website ( http://www.hp.com/#Support)? They might have something on there that may solve your problems.

Hope this helps (though it probably won't...)!
