I have notebook that needs to be sent out. When I sat it down on the desk I didn't notice the powercord being under it. It melted the powercord and now it will not power up. I borrowed another cord to test it so I know it will not power up. The problem is the service centers will not send it out unless it has a power cord. I do not want to spen 85 on a cord if they can not fix it at reasonable cost. Can I send it out myself?

I dont think AC adapters cost that much. Which part of the powercord melted before or after the brick?

Call up hp and see what they can do, or just buy one on online if worst comes to worst then send it in

For a second I though it said your ass melted the powercord when you sat on it
