    Notebook manufacturer is identified as Acer not HP

    Hi, I have dv9500 and windows 7 identified my notebook as Acer

    Hmmm.... perhaps you used some Acer drivers or software install disks or something somewhere along the line?

    Where is it identified in Windows 7 as Acer? You havn't used one of those (illegal) Windows 7 loaders have you?

    Was your prior OS install the original? Did you do a clean install or an upgrade to Win 7? What source did you use to install Win 7?

    My observation is you did a loader with a BIOS mod for an acer certificate, and that is where sys info will grab that info.

    Want to get rid of it? You'll can reflash your BIOS ... Then see what you get, if you did that for a loader, you will find you will no longer be activated.
