    Notebook wont shut down DV7

    Guys i have a weird problem, my dv7 won't power down.. wel it will for half, screen goes of,but the quicktouch buttons don't and the fan too. there id HDD activity and like 10 minutes later, no difference. i each time force to shut down by pressing the on/off button for 5/6 sec. and then when i turn it on i don't get a screen that vist wasn't turned off correctly but it just boots up normally!!

    please help me with this problem :D

    You probably messed up Vista (which really isn't that hard to do...). Easiest solution would be just restoring the HDD.

    Easiest solution for us to give is to reload. You've probably got data you want to save. I would search on google for Vista Shutdown issues. It sounds like there is something in the cache that isn't flushing out all the way and see if other general Vista users has registry hacks that will force the flush

    Did u went to start, shutdown options and select shutdown, or just the red button?
