Everytime I hit the numlock key on the number pad the rest of the keyboard changes its keys too. For instance other letter keys and such will act as if they are number keys. Does anyone know why this wouldh appen with numlock pressed and if so how to make it only effect the number pad like it should?

I don't think there is a way to change this behavior. It's usually hard-coded.
But don't give up yet. ;)

It use to not do this. I never had an issue before where I hit the numlock key and the the normal character keys changed to numbers with it. Being that I have a number pad on this full size keyboard it shouldnt be doing it at all lol.

They never decided what would fix it if anything at all. One person mentioned it might be a messed up motherboard but I cant see that being the case. Honestly I think something else software wise is interfering. It didnt do this before so I figured If ask here.

Guess there are no other ideas. I attempted to connect an external keyboard and it seemed to function fine. When Windows first boots up and the numlock key is on it works fine. Soon as you toggle the key off and on again it makes the numbers instead of letters again.

I wasn't meaning that they had solved the problem. I was letting you know so when you connect HP, you can mention that other people *are* having the same problem.

I spoke with online chat support and they said that it needs to be sent in. Sucks being they will put XP pro back on it and Ill have to reinstall Vista all over again.

Tell them not to do that... you want it tested with vista. If the drivers suck, then they need to know that!
