    Hi,

    I just got my dv9500t.

I would like to install Solaris 10 as the second OS. Cannot find the appropriate Nvidia GeForce 8600M GS driver for Solaris 10 to use. Has anyone come across this issue? Please advice.

Hope I am posting this in the appropriate form as the system is a dv9500t from HP. Or do I have to post it in the Linux form (as there is no Solaris form in NBR)?

    Thanks in advance.

    BGeo

Yeah, Solaris is lagging behind on these aspects. I tried the generic option, but it's very crude. Hopefully Sun would inlcude 8600m support in the near future.
I wanted to install Solaris 10 on dv9500t for using Oracle. If I cannot resolve this issue, I am thinking of trying CentOS, Gentoo or Ubuntu.

    Thanks,

    BGeo

I doubt they plan to support 8600m any time soon. See here:
    http://us.download.nvidia.com/solaris/100.14.11/README/appendix-c.html

Only Quadro chipsets are listed. Not a single gamer chipset is listed which tells me there no plans to ever support 8600m.

Send them an email maybe. Who knows, maybe they can tell you how to make it work.
