    I have some issues with my video since I upgrade the nvidia drivers from the nvidia web site. I removed the drivers and I reinstalled the original ones with the same results.

    Does the Windows drivers upgrade also upgrades the video firmware as well ??

    NVIDIA driver upgrades are not the same as firmware upgrades (do you mean BIOS updates?).

    What HP notebook do you have? HP may possibly provide BIOS updates for your laptop, which may also contain BIOS updates for the graphics card.
    Also, what types of video problems does your notebook exhibit? Perhaps these video problems can be fixed without such an update.

    * I have a DV5 1010ef.
    * I am using the latest BIOS, I am not sure if the VIDEO card BIOS was upgraded as well. BTW Does the 9600 GT BIOS can be upgraded?
    * A few days ago I installed the latest Nvidia drivers from the Nvidia site (big mistake) and I noticed that when the screensavers lunched the machine did not responded any more I had to turnoff the machine via ON/OFF push button. I un-installed the video drivers and I reinstalled the original HP ones, with the same problem. I ran CCLEAN to make sure that nothing left from the previous Video drivers and I still have the same issue :confused:

    Did you download the nVidia graphic driver program from nVidia? (Beta version) It will tell you if your system can be updated. Vista does well with updates including graphic cards.
