Is there a way to reinstall the OS without the bloatware that comes with HP. They sent me the OEM disk with the OS and other applications, but what I want to do is just install the OS. Is this possible?

Yes it is possible. What laptop do you have? The OS CD should just install a clean OS. The driver CD should have the drivers and some of the other software that you don't need. Just uncheck the software you don't need to install.

Well with HP Recovery CD it comes with the OS but the applications and drivers were also on the same disc.

Well I would still give it a shot. See if you can deselect the software that you don't want once the OS is installed.

If you bought the OEM CD, then it should be a clean OS install without any of the software and drivers. The recovery disc that HP expects people to burn themselves is not a clean version and neither is the partition on the HDD.
