Recently I've started to hear some odd sounds coming from my DV2. I've been hearing pops, clicks, clacks, something that sounds something is constantly being turned on and off, and a very faint sound that sounds almost like a fan, but is coming from more near the middle or right side of the laptop than where the fan is.

Just wondering how bad these sounds are, or if they're natural laptop sounds that for some reason I just never heard.

it might be the fan when it turns off or on, it might be loose causing it to hit the housing??? go to your bios and see what the setting of the fan is? always on?

I've got 'Always On' set to off, though the fan stays on all the time anyway it seems. The sounds where happening before I changed that though.

It's most likely the hard drive, and the sounds you are hearing are absolutely not normal. Check the service manual for the location of the hard drive, and listen carefully to that area. If the sounds are indeed coming from the HDD, backup your data IMMEDIATELY. That drive is failing.
